This Stella Artois draft beer commercial was filmed in the New Orleans restaurant with two different cameras.
I was hired to do color correction and grading on the last stage of post production of this video. The biggest issue was a static grain pattern of the high speed camera sensor used to film close up shots, which caused an obvious artifact called moire to appear on the final image. You can clearly see it on the first before/after example in this project’s gallery. I was able to solve that problem due to my experience working in several post production studios.
For the color grading style I chose the cinematic look popular at that time. Warm highlights and cold shadows give the video that stylish blockbuster feel, and at the same time that setup makes golden glow of the beer chalice stand out and look appealing.
